Beef Biriyani

Here comes a simply delicious biriyani recipe with beef. It is really yummy flavored biriyani that everyone will enjoy till end. Give a try upon it.

INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION
  1. Biriyani rice: 3& 1/2 cup
  2. Beef: 1 kg
  3. Onion: 4 (large)
  4. Tomato: 3( medium)
  5. Ginger paste: 2 TBS
  6. Garlic paste: 2 TBS
  7. Green chilly: 12
  8. Grated coconut: 4 TBS
  9. Cashew: 8-10
  10. Curd: 2 tbs
  11. Cloves: 5
  12. Cardamom: 5
  13. Cinnamon : 2 inch
  14. Star anise: 3
  15. Bay leaf : 3
  16. Cumin seed: 1 tsp
  17. Chilly powder: 1 tbs
  18. cumin Powder: 1 tsp
  19. Turmeric Powder: 1&1/2 tsp
  20. Garam masala powder: 1 tsp
  21. Lemon : 1
  22. Coriander leaves: some
  23. Mint leaves : some
  24. Ghee: 6-7 tbs
  25. Salt: to taste
METHOD OF PREPARATION
  • Marinate beef with 1 tbs chilly powder, 1 tsp cumin Powder, 1 tsp garam masala powder,  1 tsp turmeric powder and required salt and keep aside for 20-30 minutes.
  • Pressure cook it till beef gets cooked well.
  • Heat 2 tbs ghee in a wok or pan and saute Onion in it till golden brown.
  • Next saute ginger- garlic- green chilly paste till it removes raw smell.
  • Add tomato pieces and saute till it mashes .
  • Roast grated coconut to golden.Ground roasted coconut and cashew to smooth paste with little water and add to above pan.
  • Also add curd to it. Saute for 3-4 minutes.
  • Add cooked beef to it, combine well and cook for 8-10  minutes.
  • Also add some chopped coriander and mint leaves to it.
  • Remove from flame.
  • Soak biriyani rice for 30 minutes and drain.
  • Heat a pan with 4 tbs ghee, and roast all whole spices in it for 3-4 minutes.
  • Now add  rice and roast it for 2-3 minutes.
  • Now pour 6 cups of boiling water , enough salt, lime juice from a lemon, 1/ 2 tsp turmeric powder. Cook till rice is done up to 90%.
Layering of rice
  • Take a thick bottomed pan, add half of masala to it and make a layer.
  • Next layer it with half of rice, sprinkle some coriander, mint leaves, little ghee.
  • Again layer it with remaining masala and rice.
  • Top it with coriander, mint leaves and little ghee.
  • Close it with a tight lid, place a weight above it to reduce the chance of steam escape and cook for 15-20 minutes in low flame.
  • Open the lid only after 10 minutes.
  • You can also garnish it with fried Onion or roasted cashews and raisins.
Delicious Beef Biriyani is ready. Serve hot.
