Spicy Curd / Thayir Idli

Curd idli is a delicious breakfast recipe in which idli are soaked in greeny curd and are seasoned. Here we prepare small cocktail idlis and are soaked in spicy green curd sauce. We made a paste of green-chilly, coriander and mint leaves and are then mixed with curd and salt to get spicy green sauce. It is healthy and tasty recipe, give a try on it.


Spicy Curd  / Thayir Idli


INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION

  1. Idli batter: 2 cup
  2. Curd: 200 g
  3. Green chilly: 1
  4. Coriander leaves: 1 string
  5. Mint leaves: 4-5
  6. Mustard seeds: 1/2 tsp
  7. Dry red chilly: 2
  8. Curry leaves: 2 string
  9. Salt: to taste
  10. Oil: 1 tsp
METHOD OF PREPARATION

  • Prepare idli batter with rice, urud dal and rice. You can use readymade batter or prepare by yourself. For recipe click on idli.
  • Now cook cocktail or small idlis. Or cook larger one and cut into pieces.
  • Grind green chilly, coriander and mint leaves and mix well with curd and salt.
  • Soak idlis in this spicy green curd sauce for 10-15 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a pan and sputter mustard seeds, then curry leaves and red chilly pieces.
  • Pour this over the soaked idli and serve.
