- Chicken: 1 small(about 600-800 g, cut into small pieces)
- Onion: 5
- Dry red chilly: 25
- Coriander seeds: 4 tbs
- Grated coconut: 3/4 part of whole coconut
- Garlic: 5-6 cloves
- Cumin seeds: 3/4 tsp
- Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
- Tamarind: 1 gooseberry sized
- Salt: to taste
- Oil: as required
- Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan and roast red chilly, grated coconut and half of coriander seeds till they turns to brownish
- Allow it to cool a little and ground to fine paste along with remaining coriander seeds, cumin seeds, garlic, turmeric powder, tamarind and required water.
- Now heat a sauce pan, add 2-3 tbs oil, and saute chopped onion in it.
- When it turns to brownish, add chicken pieces and saute for 5 minutes.
- Now pour the water we wash the jar used for grinding masala and cook in low flame.
- Add salt also.
- When chicken pieces gets 75-80 % cooked, Pour the ground masala to it and cook by continuous stirring.
- Cook by continuous stirring till the masala brings out a pleasant flavor and threw away its raw smell.
- When the gravy gets required thickness, turn off the flame.
