Rava / Sooji / Semolina Pathiri

Rava or semolina pathiri is a delicious soft pathiri recipe suitable for breakfast or dinner. It is easy to prepare and are really soft and tasty. Semolina have rich in nutrients like potassium, fibre. It is a balanced food, low in cholesterol and sodium. They are healthy for diabetics and  diet food with great source of energy.


Rava / Sooji / Semolina Pathiri


INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION

  1. Semolina: 1 cup
  2. Water: 2 cup
  3. Ghee: 1 tsp
  4. Salt: to taste.
METHOD OF PREPARATION

  • Boil water with required salt and ghee.
  • When it starts boiling, add semolina by stirring.
  • Stir cook till they thickens and combines together without sticking anywhere.
  • Turn off flame and allow it to cool a little.
  • Knead it well and make small balls of it.
  • Flatten each ball using a chappathi press by applying little ghee or oil.
  • Cook both sides as we do for pathiri or chappathi in a hot dosa pan or frying pan.
  • You can also roll it using a rolling pin by sprinkling little rice powder.
Lovely and soft Rava/semolina pathiri is ready. Serve hot with any gravy.
