Apple Crisp

Apple crisp is a lovely dessert recipe of baked apple pieces with a crispy top layer. First apple pieces are cooked with sugar and are topped with a mixture of butter, crushed biscuit ,nuts and walnuts before baking . This topping provides a crispy topping to the dessert. They are served with a scoop of ice-cream or cream.


Apple Crisp

INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION

  1. Apple: 1/2 kg
  2. Powdered Sugar: 1 cup
  3. Butter: 2 tsp
  4. Crushed biscuits: 1/2 cup
  5. Walnut: 100 g
  6. Cashew: 150 g
  7. Milk: 4 tbs
  8. Cinnamon powder: 1/4 tsp
  9. Ice-cream: 500 ml
METHOD OF PREPARATION

  • Water and cut the apples into small pieces without removing its skin.
  • Put these pieces in a sauce pan, and cook with 1/2 cup sugar and little water.
  • When the apple pieces cooked well, mash with with a laddle and mix cinnamon powder with it.
  • Pour this onto a glass microwavable tray.
  • Now mix remaining sugar with 2 tsp butter .combine both well.
  • Chop walnut and cashew into small pieces. You can simply use cashews only or walnuts only, i used both.
  • Place the biscuits in cover, beat it with any hard object to crush it.
  • Mix crushed biscuits and chopped cashews and walnuts with butter and sugar mix.
  • Now add 4 tbs milk to it and stir to get well combined.
  • Spread this above the apple layer.
  • Preheat the oven to 150 degree Celsius.
  • Place the tray in preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or till the top turns golden and crispy.
Delicious Apple Crisp is ready. Cool it a little and serve with a scoop of ice-cream or simply cream.
