Badami chicken is a wonderful recipe among chicken dishes. Addition of almond brings a nice flavor to the gravy. Presence of yogurt and coconut milk brings a creamy gravy. It is very simple but delicious recipe.
INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION
- Chicken:1/2 kg
- Yogurt: 1/2 cup
- Onion: 2
- Ginger: 1 piece
- Garlic: 5
- Almond: 10
- Cashew:5
- Chilly powder: 1 tbs
- Garam masala powder: 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder: 1/4 tsp
- Coconut milk: 1/2 cup
- Oil: for sauting
- Salt: to taste
- Coriander leaves: 1/4 cup
- Prepare paste with almond, cashew, ginger, garlic and garam masala powder.
- Heat oil in a pan and saute onion in it.
- Now add the ground paste along with 3-4 tbs water and saute till oil seems clear through sides.
- Then add chicken pieces along with yogurt, chilly, turmeric powders and salt to it.
- Mix well and cook in low flame with closed lid.
- When chicken pieces are cooked well, add thick coconut milk, mix well and cook for 5 minutes.
- Add coriander leaves and turn off the flame.
