Sorotta

Sorotta is a delicious lovely  crispy snack covered with powdered sugar . We have to take little effort while preparing as it taken little longer steps, but it tastes great. It is one of the most lovable teatime, eid or anytime snack. As it is dry snack, it can be stored for long term use. Give a try upon it.


INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION
  1. All purpose flour: 1 kg
  2. Egg: 1
  3. Semolina/ rawa: 1/2 cup
  4. Powdered sugar: 1 cup
  5. Salt: to taste
  6. Ghee: 1/2 cup
  7. Oil: 1/2 cup+ for frying
METHOD OF PREPARATION
  • Prepare a smooth dough with all purpose flour, egg, salt by adding required water.
  • Convert them into medium balls and roll it like chapathi.
  • Mix 1/2 cup ghee + 1/2 cup oil or use ghee only.
  • Spread little ghee- oil mix throughout the rolled chapathi.
  • Sprinkle little rawa all over it.
  • Now roll it like as shown in the picture.
  • Now cut it into small pieces and place 2-3 pieces in a chapathi press with little distance.
  • Fry them in hot oil till they turns golden and crispy.
  • Immediately sprinkle powdered sugar over fried sorotta before it cools.
Delicious, crispy and lovely Sorotta are ready. Store in airtight container for future use.
