Beef Chukka / Varuval

Beef Chukka or varuval is a delicious beef recipe with the goodness of coconut. It is really mouth-watering suits with any breakfast or dinner dishes or even for lunch. Give a try upon it


INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION 
  1. Beef: 1/2 kg
  2. Onion: 2
  3. Tomato: 2
  4. Ginger-garlic-green chilly paste: 1tbs
  5. Crushed chilly powder(Roast red chilies and crush into flakes) : 2 tbs
  6. Coriander powder: 2tbs
  7. Turmeric powder: 1/2tsp
  8. Pepper powder: 1/2tsp
  9. Garam masala powder: 1/2tsp
  10. Salt: to taste
  11. Curry leaves: little
  12. Coriander leaves: little
  13. Coconut grated: 3/4 cup
  14. Oil: for sauting

METHOD OF PREPARATION 

  • Heat a pressure cooker add little oil and saute onion till it become transparent.
  • Then add ginger-garlic-green chilly paste and saute until its raw smell goes off. Add curry leaves also.
  • Add tomatoes to this and cook till it mashes.
  • Next add beef pieces, turmeric powder, pepper powder, garam masala, salt , give a mix and cook for sometime.
  • Then add 2 tbs coriander powder, 2tbs chilly flakes mix well .
  • Close the lid of cooker.
  • When the first whistle comes, note the time and cook for another 20 minutes in low flame.
  • Turn off the flame, wait for pressure escape to open the cooker.
  • Add grated coconut to it and cook till coconut cooks and required consistency reaches. Give stir occasionally.
  • Add coriander leaves , stir well and turn off the flame.

Delicious Beef Chukka or Varuval is ready. Serve hot.
