Chicken Chowder

Chicken chowder is a delicious soup recipe that can replace dinner. As its preparation also uses rice, it will fulfill our stomach easily. It can be eaten as itself or with two pieces of bread or bun. It is really lovely, simple and tasty that everyone will love ,do try on it.


INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION

  1. Chicken: 600-700 g
  2. Biriyani rice: 1/2 cup
  3. Onion: 2
  4. Celery: 1 strand
  5. Bay leaf: 4
  6. Pepper powder: 2 tsp
  7. All purpose flour: 1/4 cup
  8. Mustard powder: 1/2 tsp
  9. Butter: 4 tbs
  10. Fresh cream: 1/2 cup
  11. Lemon juice: 1/2 tsp
  12. Water: 8 cups
  13. Salt: to taste
  14. Parsley leaves: for garnishing
METHOD OF PREPARATION

  • Cook chicken pieces with 8 cups of water, 1 tsp pepper powder, chopped celery, 1 onion chopped, bay leaves, 1 tsp of salt till chicken pieces get cooked well.
  • Take out the chicken pieces from stock and cut into small pieces without bones.
  • Keep the stock aside.
  • Heat another pan and melt butter.
  • Saute remaining onion in it till it changes color.
  • Now add all purpose flour and saute for 1 minute.
  • Pour the stock over it, mix well and allow it to boil.
  • Wash and drain the rice.
  • When stock starts boiling , add rice to it and cook in low flame.
  • Add chicken pieces, remaining pepper powder, mustard powder, fresh cream and salt when the rice get cooked.
  • Cook for another 5 minutes and remove from fire.
  • Pour lemon juice over it and top it with chopped parsley leaves..
Mouth-watering healthy Chicken Chowder soup is ready. Serve soon and hot.
