Shami Kebab

Shami kebab is a popular kebab variety from Indian, Pakisthani and Bangladeshi cuisine. It is a delicious and spicy kebab recipe with  meat or fish. Here i prepared with beef. It is a combination of minsed meat and chanadal with little spice. It is served hot with  rice or you can simply eat it with sauce or other dippings.

Shami Kebab

INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION

  1. Beef: 1 kg
  2. Chana Dal: 1 bowl
  3. Onion: 1 large
  4. Ginger-garlic paste: 1 &1/2 tbs
  5. Green chilly: 4
  6. Chilly powder: 2 tsp
  7. Coriander powder: 2 tsp
  8. Garam masala powder: 1 tsp
  9. Egg: 2
  10. Mint leaves: 1 bunch
  11. Coriander leaves: Half bunch
  12. Salt: to taste
  13. Oil: for frying
METHOD OF PREPARATION

  • Wash and drain beef and chana dal.
  • Cook beef and chana dal along with onion, ginger-garlic paste, half of mint leaves, salt and required water in pressure cooker.
  • Cook till it tender and dries up all water.
  • Now mix chilly powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, coriander leaves and remaining mint leaves , all together with beef mix
  • Now allow it to cool and chopperize the mixture all together.
  • Beat 1 egg and add into the kebab mix and combine well.
  • Convert them into kebab shapes.
  • Beat the second egg and dip each kebab in it .
  • Shallow fry the kebabs in a frying pan with little oil.
Spicy delicious Beef Shami Kebab is ready. Serve hot with rice.
