Murukku are lovely crispy snack, loves to have at any time, while studying or watching tv or while having a talk or discussion. It is crispy and are available in different flavors. Here comes a recipe of murukku flavored with palak puree which provides green color to murukku, thus named as green murukku. As it is prepared by rice powder , it is healthy snack too. Addition of palak leaves enriches its nutrition. You can either prepare it into sticks or into layered round shapes.
- White rice: 1 cup
- Urud dal: 1 tbs
- Cumin seeds: 1 tsp
- Sesame seeds: 1 tsp
- Butter: 1/2 tbs
- Palak puree: 1/2 cup
- Garam masala powder: 1/4 tsp
- Ginger: 1 piece.
- Salt: to taste
METHOD OF PREPARATION
- Soak white rice for 4-5 hour.
- Drain it and allow it to dry a little.
- Now powder it using a mixer jar.
- Sieve it to get fine powder.
- Again grind the remaining present on siever and sieve .
- Now discard the remaining waste .
- Roast uruddal till it changes to reddish and powder it.
- Chop ginger into very tiny pieces.
- Mix all the ingredients except oil to get a smooth dough like of chappathi.
- Here i used white sesame .
- Put the dough into a sevnari with disc of star shaped. and roll it into murukk shape or simply sticks into a cotton cloth.
- Fry it in hot oil in low flame till it become crispy
Delicious crispy and attractive Green or palak murukk is ready. store it in airtight container.
