Malpuri

Malpuri is a delicious traditional snack recipe from Mangalorian origin. It looks like pan cake but are fried in oil or ghee. It is little sweet so will like by everyone. It can be prepared easily with few ingredients and can be stored for 1 week or more.

INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION

  1. All Purpose Flour: 1 cup
  2. Sugar: 1 cup
  3. Black Sesame Seeds: 1 tsp(optional)\
  4. Yellow Food Color: 2-3 drops(optional, i didn't used)
  5. Salt : a pinch
  6. Water: !&1/4 cup
  7. Cardamom: 1-2
  8. Oil or Ghee: for frying
METHOD OF PREPARATION

  • Boil water with sugar, salt and cardamom. boil it for 5 minutes after reaching boiling point with closed lid and allow it to cool.
  • When it cools , mix all purpose flour, food color and sesame seeds and prepare a thick batter.
  • Now heat ghee or oil and pour 1 laddle of batter and cook both sides till its ends become dark and crispy.
  • Repeat the steps for every batter, dry it in kitchen tissue.
Delicious and sweet Malpuris with little crispy are ready. Store it in air-tight container and enjoy eating.
