Nankattai is a crunchy biscuit snack which we all loves to eat at any time. It is delicious tea time snack. It can be prepared easily with few ingredients. It requires little preparation time with 45 minutes baking time.
INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION- All purpose flour:1 & 1/2 cup
- Besan: 1/4 cup
- Butter: 200 g
- Sugar: 1/2 cup
- Cardamom powder: 1/2 tsp
- Egg yolk: 1
- Any dry fruit( cashew, almond, pistachio): 3-4 tbs chopped
- Beat butter with 1/2 cup of sugar to get combined well.( you can also use ghee instead of butter)
- Combine all purpose flour, besan flour and cardamom powder in a mixing bowl.
- Pour the butter-sugar mixture to dry ingredients and mix well.
- Prepare balls with the dough and convert it into nankattai shape by giving a slight press on one side.
- Brush egg yolk over it and garnish with chopped dry fruit. You can use roasted dry fruit for enhancing the taste a little more.
- Place it in a greased baking tray and place on the preheated oven.
- Bake at 150 degree for 15-20 minutes.
Delicious Nankattai is ready. Store in airtight container.
