Red Velvet Cake Without Oven

Most of us loves to have a bite of cakes. Also we love to cook it at home. But unavailability of oven discourages us from that. Here comes a simple, soft  and yummy red velvet cake recipe on stovetop.

INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION
  1. Egg: 3
  2. All purpose flour: 3/4 cup
  3. Sugar : 1/2 cup
  4. Cocoa powder: 1tbs
  5. Baking powder: 1 tsp
  6. Baking soda:1/2 tsp
  7. Salt: a pinch
  8. Sunflower oil: 4 tsp
  9. Milk: 1/2 cup
  10. Vinegar: 1 tsp
  11. Vanilla essence: 1 tsp
  12. Red food color: 1 tsp
  13. Whipping cream: 1 cup
  14. Sugar syrup: 1 cup( 1/2 cup sugar in 1cup water)
  15. Strawberries: for decorating
  16. Butter : for greasing
METHOD OF PREPARATION
  • Keep ready a baking tray greased with butter and dusted with little flour. 
  • Take a large deep thick bottomed wok that can hold the baking tray inside and place a ring at centre inside the wok.
  • Take 1/2 cup milk in a bowl and pour 1 tsp vinegar into it.
  • Mix it well and keep aside for 10-15 minutes to convert it into buttermilk.
  • Sift mix all purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt. If you are using color powder, then mix it now. Otherwise add later( when color is liquid).
  • Take 3 eggs of room temperature in a bowl and beat it using a egg beater at speed 3 for 3-4 minutes.
  • Now add in sugar little by little to egg and beat.
  • Now increase the speed to high and beat till sugar dissolves and mixture turns into creamy.
  • Add in buttermilk and whisk to combine.
  • Slowly fold in flour mix without any lump.
  • Next add in oil and mix well.
  • Now add vanilla essence and food color if you didn't add earlier and mix well.
  • Pour the cake mixture to the baking tray immediately after combining all the ingredients. Give a light beat to the table with baking tray to escape the air.
  • Place the tray above the ring inside the wok and cover with a lid.
  • Heat it with high flame for 5 minutes and then reduce to medium low flame.
  • Cook for 40- 45 minutes. Check with a toothpick whether cake is done or not. If toothpick comes out clear then , it's ready.
  • Take out the baking tray and allow it to cool.
  • Beat whipping cream till it doubles and produce stiff peaks.
  • Now cut the cake into 2 or 3 layers. Conserve a thin layer of cake to make crumbs for decoration.
  • Place 1 layer on a tray, and moist all-over with sugar syrup and spread a layer of whipped cream over it.
  • Place the second layer of cake and moist it with sugar syrup.
  • Top it with whipped cream and place the last layer of cake.
  • Moist it with sugar syrup and cover all over the cake with whipped cream
  • .Refrigerate for 2-3 hour.
  • Decorate with fresh strawberries, grated white chocolate and cake crumbs.
Delicious soft Red Velvet Cake without oven is ready, serve chilled and enjoy.
