Wheat Paratha Recipe



Parathas are one of the favorite for Indians especially Keralites. They can be prepared with all purpose flour, wheat flour or a combination of both. Here comes the recipe for delicious and healthy wheat parathas.
INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION
  1. Wheat flour: 2 cup
  2. Egg: 1
  3. Baking Soda: 1/4 tsp
  4. Milk: 1/2 cup
  5. Sugar: 1 tsp
  6. Salt: to taste
  7. Water: for kneading if required
  8. Oil: 3 tbs
  9. Wheat flour or rice powder(for spreading): 2 tbs
METHOD OF PREPARATION
  • In a bowl, add wheat flour, baking soda, salt and sugar and mix well to reach everywhere.
  • Add 1 tbs to it and give a firm mix.
  • Now add egg and mix well.
  • Knead it with milk to get a smooth dough. required add little water also for kneading.
  • Keep the dough for 1/2-1 hour covered .
  • Convert it into balls and brush them with little oil.
  • Roll it using a rolling pin to a thin chappathi and brush little oil over it.
  • Now sprinkle wheat or rice flour over it, fold it in zigzag manner and then to balls.
  • Give a press with your hands.
  • Brush oil again and roll it again using rolling pin to get thin parathas.
  • Heat a pan and add little oil, cook the parathas till both sides cooks well.
  • Repeat the steps for every balls.
  • Place the parathas together and give a press from every sides to get the layers well.
Delicious and healthy wheat paratha is ready. Serve hot for better taste.
