Chicken Hariyali Recipe



Chicken is one of the most consuming non vegetarian food item. It can be prepared into a large variety of dishes with different tastes and flavors. Here is a simple such recipe. It can be prepared with gravy as well thick dry gravy. Both tastes well. It suits with any breakfast or dinner dishes or even for lunch.
INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION
  1. Chicken: 1 kg
  2. Onion: 3
  3. Tomato: 3
  4. Chilly powder: 3 tsp
  5. Coriander powder: 4 tsp
  6. Ginger: 1 inch
  7. Garlic: 2 bulb
  8. Cloves: 4
  9. Cinnamon stick: 2 inch
  10. Bay leaf / tej patta: 2
  11. Cumin:1/2 tsp
  12. Oil: 100 ml
  13. Coriander leaves: little
  14. Salt: to taste
METHOD OF PREPARATION

  • Heat a pan and add half of the oil and saute onion till it become golden brown color.(onions are thinly chopped in length).
  • When it cools, grind it along with chilly powder, coriander powder, ginger, garlic, cloves, cinnamon, bay leaf, cumin and salt to a fine paste.
  • Marinate the chicken pieces with this ground paste and keep aside for 3-4 hours.
  • After that add remaining oil in a pan and boil.
  • Then add the marinated chicken pieces along with the gravy to the oil and stir continuously for 10 minutes.
  • Now add the chopped tomatoes , mix well and cook in low flame till chicken pieces cooks well.
  • Add required amount of water for gravy as per your taste.
  • When oil appears on the sides or top, the pieces get cooked . Turn off the flame.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Delicious Chicken Hariyali is ready. Serve hot with chapathi, roti like anything.
