Paniyaram is a healthy recipe prepared using idli batter. It can be prepared as a sweet or spicy dish which can be considered as a breakfast dish or evening tea time snack. Paniyaram can be prepared as Sweet paniyaram and spicy masala paniyaram. Here is a simple recipe for sweet paniyaram . These are healthy for kids. As a sweet and soft snack , our kids will love it.
- Idli Batter: 2 cup
- Jaggery: 3-4 tbs
- Coconut:2-3 tbs
- Cardamom powder:1/2 tsp
- Salt: a pinch
METHOD OF PREPARATION
- Powder jaggery using a grinder jar.
- Take idli batter in a bowl and add remaining ingredients to it and mix well.

- Heat a paniyaram pan( pan having holes on it) , add 2-3 drops of oil in each hole and pour batter to it.
- Cook till it cooks well and both sides become brownish.
- If you don't have paniyaram pan, steam the batter like that of idli in idli cooker and light fry it in a pan with little oil. I have done so.
