Prawns are most lovable seafood. Prawns prepared in butter gravy is more delicious, rich in cream and lovable.
INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION- Prawns: 250 g
- Onion: 1 big
- Tomato: 1
- Fresh / thick cream: 3 tbs
- Chilly powder: 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder: 1/4 tsp
- Garam masala: 1/2 tsp
- Chat masala: 1/2 tsp(optional)
- Butter: 2-3 tbs
- Kasuri methi(fenugreek leaves): 1/2 tsp
- Salt: to taste
- Cashew: 10(optional)
- Almond: 10(optional)
- Oil: for sauting
- Soak cashew and almond and convert it into paste.( remove almond skin before grinding)
- Marinate prawns with chilly powder, turmeric powder and salt. also add a little kasuri methi.
- Keep it marinated for 10-15 minutes.
- Meanwhile heat a pan , add little oil and saute onion till it turns light brownish color.
- When it cools, make it into paste with little water.
- Cook tomato in little water , allow it to cool, remove skin and puree it using a mixer jar without water.
- Heat a pan, add 2 tbs of butter, and fry marinated prawns in it.
- When it cooks, pour the onion paste with 1/2 cup of water.
- Stir well and cook for 10 minutes with lids closed in low flame.
- Then add tomato puree, mix well and cook another 5 minutes.
- Now add garam masala, chat masala and mix well.
- Then add cashew almond paste, give a stir and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Now add fresh / thick cream, mix well .
- Add kasuri methi and 1 tbs of butter over it and turn off the flame.
Delicious Prawn makhani is ready. Serve hot
