Prawn Makhani / Butter Gravy Recipe



Prawns are most lovable seafood. Prawns prepared in butter gravy is more delicious, rich in cream and lovable.
INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION
  1. Prawns: 250 g
  2. Onion: 1 big
  3. Tomato: 1
  4. Fresh / thick cream: 3 tbs
  5. Chilly powder: 2 tsp
  6. Turmeric powder: 1/4 tsp
  7. Garam masala: 1/2 tsp
  8. Chat masala: 1/2 tsp(optional)
  9. Butter: 2-3 tbs
  10. Kasuri methi(fenugreek leaves): 1/2 tsp
  11. Salt: to taste
  12. Cashew: 10(optional)
  13. Almond: 10(optional)
  14. Oil: for sauting
METHOD OF PREPARATION

  • Soak cashew and almond and convert it into paste.( remove almond skin before grinding)
  • Marinate prawns with chilly powder, turmeric powder and salt. also add a little kasuri methi.
  • Keep it marinated for 10-15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile heat a pan , add little oil and saute onion till it turns light brownish color.
  • When it cools, make it into paste with little water.
  • Cook tomato in little water , allow it to cool, remove skin and puree it using a mixer jar without water.
  • Heat a pan, add 2 tbs of butter, and fry marinated prawns in it.
  • When it cooks, pour the onion paste with 1/2 cup of water.
  • Stir well and cook for 10 minutes with lids closed in low flame.
  • Then add tomato puree, mix well and cook another 5 minutes.
  • Now add garam masala, chat masala and mix well.
  • Then add cashew almond paste, give a stir and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Now add fresh / thick cream, mix well .
  • Add kasuri methi and 1 tbs of butter over it and turn off the flame.
Delicious Prawn makhani is ready. Serve hot
