Idli Batter Bonda Recipe



Idli is considered as a healthy food. Doctor recommends idlis for weight  gaining for kids. Presence of white rice and urud dal brings its nutritious property. Here is a bonda recipe with the idli batter. We can convert the left over batter into healthy evening snack or as a breakfast dish itself and can be consumed with chutney.
INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION

  1. Idli batter: 1 cup
  2. Onion: 1 ( small)
  3. Rice powder: 1 tbs
  4. All purpose flour / maida: 2 tbs
  5. Green chilly: 2
  6. asafoetida: a pinch
  7. Coriander leaves: 2 tbs
  8. Curry leaves: 1 string
  9. Salt : if required
  10. Oil: for frying
METHOD OF PREPARATION
  • Pour idli batter in a bowl and mix rice powder, maida, asafoetida to it without any lump.
  • While adding salt, take care if you have already added salt for idli batter.
  • Then add finely chopped onions, green chilly, curry leaves and coriander leaves ( all are finely chopped).
  • Mix well. The batter will be thicker than we are using for idli.
  • In a pan, boil oil and pour the batter 1 spoon each time and fry till it cooked well and become brownish color in low flame.
Delicious,soft and puffy Idli batter bonda is ready. Serve hot with chutney.
