Simple Prawn Curry Recipe


Prawn is one the lovable seafood of most of us especially children. Here is a recipe for simple prawn curry prepared in coconut milk. It is a delicious recipe with coconut milk rich gravy with little spice. This recipe will help the starters surely.
INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION
  1. Prawns: 250 g
  2. Onion: 1
  3. Tomato: 1
  4. Ginger-garlic paste: 1 tsp
  5. Green chilly: 2
  6. Curry leaves: 2 strings
  7. Chilly powder: 1&1/2 tsp
  8. Coriander powder: 1/2 tsp
  9. Pepper powder:1/2 tsp
  10. Turmeric powder: 1/4 tsp
  11. Thick coconut milk: 3/4 cup
  12. Thin coconut milk: 1 cup
  13. Mustard seeds: 1/4 tsp
  14. Fenugreek seeds: 1/4 tsp
  15. Salt: to taste
  16. Oil: for sauting
METHOD OF PREPARATION
  • Heat some oil, splitter  mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds.
  • Then add chopped onion and saute till it becomes transparent.
  • Now add ginger garlic paste, green chilly, curry leaves and saute till its raw smell goes.
  • Chopped tomatoes are added and cook till it mashes well .
  • Add chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder to it, mix well and cook for five minutes.
  • Cleaned prawns are added to it , give a firm stir.
  • Now add thin coconut milk and salt , mix well and cook until the prawns cooks well and gravy starts thickens in low flame with lids closed.
  • Then add thick coconut milk and cook till it boils and turn off the flame.
Delicious prawn curry is ready to serve. Serve hot at anytime.
