Puffed Rice Chat / Charumuru Recipe


Puffed rice is a crunchy item prepared from rice. They are available in markets. If it lost crunchiness it can be regained by roasting it. A chat prepared with puffed rice with a combination of egg, onion, tomato and little spice makes it delicious, mouthwatering especially during cold rainy reason. This chat is a part of street chats. 
INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION
  1. Puffed rice(pori): 2 cup
  2. Onion: 1
  3. Tomato: 1
  4. Egg: 3
  5. Lime juice: 1 tsp
  6. Chilly powder: 2-3 tsp
  7. Coriander leaves: 2 tbs
  8. Oil: 1 tbs(preferably olive oil)
  9. Salt: to taste
METHOD OF PREPARATION

    • Boil eggs .
    • Check the crunchiness of puffed rice. If its not crunchy roast it .
    • Onion and tomato are finely chopped.
    • Peel of the boiled egg and put it in a comparatively large bowl.
    • Crush the egg into pieces using a spoon or fork.
    • Then add chopped onion, tomato, chilly powder, salt, lime juice, oil little coriander leaves and mix well. 
    • You can increase or decrease chilly powder according to your spice concept.
    • Then add puffed rice and mix well.
    • Charumuru is ready. Garnish it with coriander leaves.
    • Note: mix puffed rice just before serving otherwise its crunchiness will lose.
    Yummy charumuru is ready. Lets have a try to enjoy its taste.
