Poratta is a dish most of the Keralites loves to eat. Here is a recipe for coin poratta which are small in size but tastes as well. Its a dish prepared by maida, egg and milk. It can be consumed at any time.
INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION- All purpose flour(maida): 250 g( 1 cup)
- Egg: 1
- Oil: 4 tbs
- Baking soda: 1/8 tsp
- Milk: 1/4 cup
- Rice powder: 3 tbs
- Sugar: 1 tsp
- Salt : to taste
METHOD OF PREPARATION
- Mix maida with 1 tbs of oil, sugar, baking soda and salt.
- Then add egg to it and mix a firm mix.
- Now add milk little by little, and knead till we get a smooth dough like chapati.
- Keep it for sometime and convert them into balls.
- Roll the balls into thin sheets by brushing oil over it.
- Then spread little rice powder over it and fold it in zigzag manner and then to balls.
- Again roll it by brushing oil over it.
- Cook both sides in a hot frying pan with little oil.
- Give a press on all sides to get the layers separated.
