Chicken Malabari Recipe


Chicken malabari is spicy chicken gravy prepared with coconut. Its a delicious dish from malabari kitchen hence the name Chicken Malabari. It is a spicy dish which goes well with any thing., which suits breakfast, lunch or dinner.

INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION

  1. Chicken: 1/2 kg
  2. Red chilly: 50 g
  3. Corriander seeds: 50 g
  4. Coconut: 1
  5. Pepper powder: 1&1/2 tsp
  6. Ginger: 1 inch piece
  7. Onion: 3-4
  8. Green chilly: 4
  9. Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
  10. Salt: to taste
  11. Oil: for sauting

METHOD OF PREPARATION

  • Roast coconut, red chilly and corriander seeds with little oil and grind it while cooled.
  • Saute onion in a pan . when it become transparent, add tomato and cook till it mashes well.
  • Add chicken pieces along with the grinded gravy to this.
  • Add salt and ginger to it.
  • Cook for 10 minutes with lid closed in low flame.
  • Then add green chilly, curry leaves, turmeric powder and pepper powder, mix well and cook till chicken cooks well.

Delicious spicy chicken malabari is ready.
