Chicken dumblings are occasional dish from Malabari kitchen which cannot be avoided during parties. These are rice dumblings or balls prepared in chicken gravy. They can be prepared as breakfast or dinner dish. Recipe is simple and are too delicious.
INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION- Rice Powder: 3 cups.
- Chicken: 250 g
- Onion: 1
- Tomato: 1
- Ginger-garlic-green chilly paste: 2 tsp
- Thick coconut milk: 2 cup
- Chilly powder:2 tsp
- Coriander powder: 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder: 1/4 tsp
- Chicken masala: 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala: 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves: 2 strings
- Coriander leaves: little
- Fennel seeds: 1 tsp
- Salt: to taste
- Oil: for sauting
- Prepare dough of rice powder with little salt and required water.
- Convert them into small balls or dumblings and give a slight press on middle of the ball with your finger.
- Cook these balls using a steamer.
- Lets prepare chicken gravy.
- Heat a pan and boil little oil.
- Saute onion till it become transparent.
- Then add curry leaves and ginger-garlic-green chilly paste till raw smell goes off.
- Now saute tomato along with it till it mashes well.
- Prepare a paste with chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and chicken masala with little water and pour over sauted mix.
- Chicken are cut into small bitable pieces and are added to it.
- Add little water and cook till chicken pieces get cooked.
- Then add thick coconut milk , mix well and allow it to boil.(add fennel seeds while grinding coconut for taking coconut milk).
- Add chopped coriander leaves also.
- When the gravy starts boiling, add the cooked dumblings over it, mix well.
- Cook these in low flame till the gravy thickens and caught over the dumblings.
