Khara Kaddi

Khara Kaddi is yummy and crispy snack that we can prepare easily at home with few ingredients. Give a try on this awesome  Mangalorean snack recipe.

INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION
  1. Besan flour: 2 cups
  2. Butter : 2 tbs(at room temperature)
  3. Red chilly powder: 1&1/2 tsp
  4. Garam masala powder: 1/4 tsp
  5. Asafoetida: a pinch
  6. Cumin seeds: 1/4 tsp
  7. Carom seeds: 1 tsp
  8. Sugar: 1/2 tsp
  9. Salt: to taste
  10. Water: to knead(almost 1/2 cup)
METHOD OF PREPARATION
  • Take besan flour, red chilly powder, garam masala powder, asafoetida, cumin seeds, carom seeds, salt, sugar in a bowl and mix well.
  • Combine butter with it.
  • Knead it to smooth dough by adding water.
  • Now take some dough in a sev press.
  • Heat oil in a kadai and squeeze the dough directly to the hot oil. Donot overcrowd the kadai.
  • Fry them to golden color in medium low heat.
  • Repeat the step with remaining dough.
  • Allow it to cool . Cut it into 2 inch pieces and store in airtight container for long term use.
