Here comes another awesome Dal recipe:
" Moghlai Dal". It is simply delicious with easy and quick steps with very common ingredients. Give a try upon this yummy recipe.
INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION- Tuvar Dal: 3/4 cup
- Chana dal:1/4 cup
- Bottle gourd: 2 cup
- Tomato: 1
- Onion: 1
- Green chilly: 2
- Ginger-garlic paste: 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder: 1/4 tsp
- Red chilly: 1
- Cumin seeds: 1 tsp
- Mustard seed: 1/2 tsp
- Ghee: 2 tsp
- Salt: to taste
- Asafoetida: a pinch
- Coriander leaves: 1 tbs
- Curry leaves: 1 string(optional)
METHOD OF PREPARATION
- Wash and soak both Dal for 30-45 minutes.
- Drain and add them to a pressure cooker.
- Also add chopped tomatoes, bottle gourd, turmeric powder and salt along with 3 cups of water.
- Place the lid and cook for three whistles.
- Allow it to release pressure by itself.
- Whisk the Dal using a laddle.
- Now heat a pan with ghee.
- Add mustard and cumin seeds to crackle.
- Next add red chilly pieces and saute for 30-60 seconds.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and saute to release it's raw smell. Also add curry leaves if using.
- Add a pinch of asafoetida and give a stir.
- Now add onion and green chilly and saute till onion turns golden.
- Now add Dal mix and allow it to boil.
- Add 1/4-1/2 cup of water if it's too thick.
- Add salt if required.
- When it start boiling, add chopped coriander leaves and remove from flame.
Delicious Moghlai Dal is ready, serve hot with rice and roti.
