Murukku/ Thenkuzhal

Murukku or thenkuzhal is a delicious healthy and crispy snack prepare with a combination of white rice, chana and moong dal. Give a try on this lovely and wonderful snack. Here i made sticks, if you want you can convert them into any shape.

INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION

  1. White rice: 4 cup
  2. Chana dal: 2 cup
  3. Moong dal: 2 cup
  4. Cumin seeds: 2 tsp
  5. Salt: to taste
  6. Oil: for frying
METHOD OF PREPARATION
  • Wash rice, and dals , drain and allow it to dry.
  • Powder them use a mixer jar and mix well.
  • Now add cumin seeds and salt and mix well.
  • Now prepare a smooth dough by adding water.
  • Heat a pan with oil for deep frying.
  • Take a sev nari or idiyappam press, place a disc with star hole and fill it with the dough.
  • Now roll out the dough from sev nari directly to hot oil .
  • Fry them till all sides get cooked for turns brownish.
Delicious, crispy and healthy snack is ready. Store in airtight container for longer crispiness and use.
