Here comes a lovely, crispy and sweet jalebi recipe that can be prepared easily with few common ingredients and steps. Give a try upon this wonderful crispy sweet recipe that everyone will love surely.
INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION
- All purpose flour: 3/4 cup
- Rice powder: 1 tbs
- Baking soda: 1/4 tsp
- Yoghurt: 1/2 cup
- Orange food color: 4-5 drops
- Sugar: 1 cup
- Water: 2+1 cup
- Saffron: 3-4 strands
- Lemon juice: 1/2 tsp
- Oil: for frying
METHOD OF PREPARATION
- Combine rice flour with all purpose flour.
- Mix in yoghurt with it.
- Prepare the batter by adding half a cup of water little by little. Mix in 2-3 drops of orange food color in it. You can also use yellow color.
- Keep it overnight for fernentation.
- Now mix in baking soda and again keep aside for 1 hour .
- Prepare sugar syrup by boiling 1 cup sugar with 2 cups of water till 1 string consistancy.
- Now add in lemon juice, 1-2 drops color. and saffron strands , mix well and keep aside.
- Now transfer little batter to a squeezing bottle with small hole( jalebi making bottle can buy from market) or a piping bag with small hole.
- Heat oil in a wide mouth pan. Oil should be in medium heat, donot boil.
- Now prepare jilebis squeezing in circular motion directly to oil.
- Do 2 or 3 jalebis at a time. Donot ovrrcrowd it.
- Cook both sides till crispy.
- Take out from oil and quickly dip into sugar syrup and hold pressed for 30-60 seconds. Other wise they may stand at top which will destroy correct absorption of sugar syrup by jalebis.
- Transfer it to a serving or storing container.
