Crispy pathiri is a lovely and healthy snack that are prepared on any occasions such as Eid or as a teatime snack. It is simple, easy and quick but tastes great , give a try upon it. As it is rainy season and we love to have something while raining or cold climate, try it and enjoy.
INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION
- White rice: 2cup
- Egg : 1
- Coconut grated or coconut pieces(thinly sliced or chopped): 1/2-3/4 cup
- Sesame seeds: 1/2 tbs(optional)
- Salt: to taste
- Oil: for frying
METHOD OF PREPARATION
- Soak white rice for 3-4 hours.
- Drain and grind it with egg and salt. You can add little water if needed for grinding. Do not add more.
- Heat a pan and heat the dough by folding eventually to remove watery and convert the dough firm to make balls. Turn off the flame.
- Here we are mixing coconut with the dough. You can either grate it or cut into small tiny pieces and fold it with the dough.
- You can also fold sesame seed along with coconut if needed.
- Covert them into small balls as we do for Puri preparation.
- Convert them into small Puri with the help of a chapati press and place them in a cotton cloth. So that you can prepare many at a time while frying.
- Heat oil in a pan and deep fry each Puri into crispy and golden.
Lovely and tasty Crispy Pathiri are ready. Store in airtight container for future use.
