Ela ada is a delicious and healthy sweet snack that can be used as breakfast or teatime dish. As it is sweet and delicious, all especially kids will love it surely. We can prepare it in turmeric leaf, banana leaf or any such leaf. Turmeric leaves brings out a special flavor to ADA. Give a try on this wonderful lovely dish.

- Rice powder: 250 g
- Grated coconut: 1&1/2 cup
- Jaggery: 125 g
- Shallot : 1-2
- Salt: little
- Turmeric leaves: 10-15
- Ghee: little
METHOD OF PREPARATION
- Prepare a smooth dough with rice powder, salt and water. You can also use pathiri dough for this purpose.
- Melt jaggery in a pan
- In another pan, saute shallot in little ghee.
- Now add grated coconut and mix well.
- Pour melted jaggery through a sieve to remove any impurity in it.
- Mix well and cook by stirring evenly till coconut cooks well.(10-12 minutes).
- Wash and clean turmeric leaves.
- Take a ball of dough, keep it in one side of leaf and spread evenly and thinly with your fingers. You can wet your fingers to avoid sticking.
- Spread coconut mix throughout and fold the leaf.
- Press the ends to get stuck.
- Place the prepared ADA's in steamer and cook for 15-20 minutes or till it gets cooked.
Delicious and healthy Ela ADA are ready. Serve hot.
