Radish Vada / Pakora / Moolangi Ambade

Radish is one of the healthy vegetable which are detoxifier, rich in vitamin C, potassium and many more nutrients. They are helpful in urine products, controlling piles, diabetics, skin problems, cancer and many more. They are helpful in weight control also. Here comes a delicious and quick pakora recipe with radish "Moolangi Ambade" from Mangalorean Cuisine that tastes great with little ketchup or chutney.


INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION
  1. White radish: 4
  2. Chilly powder: 2 tsp
  3. Cumin powder: 1 tsp
  4. Coriander powder: 1&1/2 tsp
  5. Asafoetida: a pinch
  6. Besan flour: 1 cup
  7. Salt: to taste
  8. Oil: for frying
METHOD OF PREPARATION
  • Peel off the skin of radish and grate it.
  • Sprinkle little salt over it and allow it to rest for 15 minutes.
  • After that Drain its water completely by squeezing it.
  • Take a bowl and mix besan flour, chilly, cumin and coriander powders, asafoetida and salt.
  • Make a little thick batter by adding water. The batter shouldnot be too thick or too thin.
  • Mix the radish with this batter.
  • Take little from it, shape it with your hands and fry it in hot oil to golden color in low flame.
Delicious  lovely and crispy Radish pakora or Moolangi Ambade is ready. Serve hot with little chutney and a cup of tea.
