Green chicken curry is a delicious spicy chicken gravy recipe. Here the spiciness is provided by green chilly and peppercorns . We prepare the gravy by adding a green paste made with green chilly, peppercorns and little coriander leaves which provides the gravy green color. We also uses coconut milk to the gravy with enriches the taste. It is easy, simple , tasty and goes well with any breakfast, lunch or dinner dishes.
INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION
- Chicken: 1/2 kg
- Thick coconut milk: 1 cup
- Green chilly: 2-3( to your spiciness)
- Peppercorns: 1 tsp
- Coriander leaves: 1/2 cup
- Onion: 1
- Tomato: 1
- Ginger-garlic paste: 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder:1/2 tsp
- Salt:to taste
- Oil: 1 tbs
- Curry leaves:1 string
- Prepare paste with green chilly, peppercorns and coriander leaves with little water.
- Keep a pan and little oil in it.
- Saute chopped onion till it turns brownish.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and curry leaves and saute for 2 minutes.
- Next saute chopped tomatoes till it mashes well.
- Now add green paste, turmeric powder, stir well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add chicken pieces, mix well and cook well in low flame with closed lid.
- Add salt also.
- When chicken gets almost cooked, pour coconut milk , mix well and allow it to boil.
- Remove from flame and serve hot.
