Chicken Pulav / Pulao

Chicken pulao is a delicious rice recipe which can be prepared easily. Usually pulao is the dish for lazy cooking but are great in taste as we cook both rice and chicken in same gravy. They are easy, and quick recipe, that we can prepare if we are little bit busy. No other curry or gravy is required with it. Give up a try on this wonderful recipe.



INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION

  1. Chicken: 3/4 kg
  2. Biriyani rice: 2 cups
  3. Onion: 3
  4. Potato: 2 medium
  5. Ginger-garlic paste: 4 tsp
  6. Pepper powder: 1&1/2 tsp
  7. Coriander powder: 1/2 tsp
  8. Cumin powder: 1/2 tsp
  9. Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
  10. Cloves: 2
  11. Cardamom: 2
  12. Cinnamon: 1/2 inch
  13. Whole pepper: 1 tsp
  14. Cumin seeds: 2 tsp
  15. Butter: 4 tbs
  16. Oil: 4 tbs
  17. Coriander leaves: 3 tbs
  18.  salt: to taste
METHOD OF PREPARATION

  • Soak rice in water for 15-20 minutes. Wash and drain the water, keep aside.
  • Cook chicken pieces with 3 tsp ginger-garlic paste, 1&1/2 tsp pepper powder, salt and 4 cups of water.
  • Heat a thick bottomed pan and add oil and butter in it.
  • Saute whole pepper, cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon and cardamom in it.
  • When they bringsout a pleasant odor, add in chopped onion and saute till it turns light brownish.
  • Now add remaining ginger-garlic paste and saute till its raw smell moves.
  • Add coriander powder, cumin powder and turmeric powder and saute for 2-3 minutes.
  • Peel off potatoes and cut into medium pieces. Add those to above mix in pan.
  • Add in coriander leaves and cook for 5-6 minutes.
  • Add chicken pieces along with its gravy , mix well and allow it to boil.
  • Add necessary salt that require for rice also.
  • When gravy starts boiling, add the drained rice in it, and give a stir mix.
  • Cook it in low flame with closed lid till the water dries and rice get cooked about 90%.
  • Turn off the flame and keep closed for 10 minutes.
  • After 10 minutes, open the lid and give a mix to the rice.
Delicious Chicken Pulao / Pulav is ready . Serve hot
