Trifle pudding is a perfect and complete dessert recipe with a combination of cake and fruits in creamy custard. It is a perfect pudding recipes for parties or special occasions. Trifle pudding is a layered pudding with jam spread cake pieces on bottom and then a layer with fruit pieces and creamy custard are poured over it. You can make repeated 2 or 3 layers. Layers can be made in a single pudding dish or into glasses or bowls.
INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION- Butter cake/sponge cake: 1
- Mixed fruit jam: 4 tbs
- Pineapple: 2 cup
- Apple: 1 cup
- Cherry: 1/4 cup
- Sugar: 1 cup
- Raspberry/mango/strawberry jelly: 1 packet
- Milk: 2 cups
- Vanilla custard powder: 2 tbs
- Fresh/thick cream: 1 cup
- Vanilla essence: 1/2 tsp
- First we can prepare custard.
- Mix custard powder with 1/2 cup milk and keep aside.
- Boil remaining milk.
- When it starts boiling, pour custard mix and 1/2 cup sugar, cook by stirring till it thickens.
- Allow it to cool and mix vanilla essence and fresh cream..
- Combine them well and refrigerate.
- Prepare jelly as indicated in packet and refrigerate.
- Cut pineapple into small pieces and cook with 1 cup water.
- When it gets cooked , add 1/2 cup sugar and melt.
- Turn off the flame and cool completely.
- After cooling, add apple pieces and cherry pieces, mix well and refrigerate.
- You can use any sponge cake either store bought or homemade.
- Cut it into squares or rectangles.
- Prepare jam sauce by mixing 3 tbs warm water..
- Spread this sauce to one side of cake pieces .
- Take glass and make a layer with cake pieces having jam on upper part.
- Or you can arrange in a pudding tray.
- Now add fruit mix along with little syrup above it.
- Pour the custard over it. Repeat the steps one more time.
- Top it with jelly crystals and refrigerate.
