Kadai Prawns

Most of us have prawns as their favorite from seafood. Lets have a spicy dish with prawn Kadai prawns. Its really delicious with few ingredients that we have in our home always. It is very easy to prepare within 15 minutes.

Kadai Prawns

INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION

  1. Prawns: 500-600 g
  2. Onion: 2
  3. Tomato : 2
  4. Tomato puree: 5-6 tbs
  5. Ginger: 1 inch thinly stripped
  6. Green chilly: 2 thinly stripped
  7. Red chilly:5
  8. Coriander seeds: 2 tsp
  9. Cumin seeds: 2 tsp
  10. Black peppercorns: 7-8
  11. Chilly powder: 1 tsp
  12. Garam masala powder: 1/2 tsp
  13. Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
  14. Chopped coriander leaves: 2 tbs
  15. Oil: 2 tbs
  16. Salt: to taste
METHOD OF PREPARATION

  • Grind red chilly, coriander seeds, peppercorn, cumin seeds coarsely.
  • Heat a kadai and boil oil.
  • Now saute stripped ginger and green chilly for half a minute.
  • Next add chopped onion and saute till it turn to light brownish.
  • Add tomato pieces and tomato puree and cook till oil comes clear.
  • Next add chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander leaves and salt to it.
  • Mix well and cook for 1 minute.
  • Now add coarsely ground powder and again mix.
  • Now add prawns and toss well to get mixed.
  • Add half cup of water, mix and cook for 6-8 minutes.
  • Now add 1/2 tsp garam masala and mix well.
  • Turn off the flame.
Yummy spicy Kadai Prawns are ready. Serve hot.
