Cauliflower is a lovely vegetable. Its recipes are delicious and simple. Chick pea have a high nutritional value and also tastes great. Especially our kids loves to have both. It is also healthy for them too. A combination recipe of both cauliflower and chick peas brings highly delicious dish. Its preparation is simple with few ingredients.
INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION
- Chickpeas: 1 cup
- Cauliflower: 1 small
- Onion: 2
- Tomato: 2
- Ginger-garlic paste: 1 tsp
- Green chilly: 2
- Chilly powder: 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder: 1/4 tsp
- Chana masala/ chat masala powder: 2-3 tbs
- Urud dal: 1/4 tsp
- Cumin seeds: 1/2 tsp
- Coriander leaves: little
- Salt: to taste
- Oil: 1-2 tbs
- Cut the cauliflower into florets and soak it in hot water for 10 minutes.
- Cook chickpeas with water, little salt and turmeric powder in pressure cooker
- Heat oil in a pan, sputter urud dal and cumin seeds.
- Now add chopped onion and cook till changes color.
- Add ginger garlic paste and green chilly and saute till its raw smell escapes.
- Now add the cauliflower florets , stir well and cook for 5 minutes .
- Close the lid while cooking. Stir occasionally.
- Next add tomato pieces , stir well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Now add chilly powder, masala powder( if you are using chat masala powder, reduce the quantity as all will not like its odor if it is more) and mix well.
- Cook for another 2-3 minutes and add cooked chickpeas along with its water and stir well .
- Add salt.
- Cook till it boils and forms a little thick gravy in low flame.
- Add chopped coriander leaves, mix well and turn off the flame.
Delicious Cauliflower- chick pea masala is ready. Serve hot with dosa, chapathi or anything.
