Prawn Pulav

Prawn pulav is a delicious rice recipe with the combination of prawns, rice and spices.It can be prepared in less time. So when we feel lazy to cook , try this recipe. Here is a simple recipe in which rice is cooked in water mixed with masala and spices.

Prawn Pulav

INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION
  1. Prawns: 250 g 
  2. Biriyani Rice: 250 g
  3. Onion: 100 g
  4. Tomato: 2
  5. Ginger Paste: 2 tsp
  6. Garlic Paste: 2 tsp
  7. Green Chilly: 4
  8. Chilly Powder: 2 tsp
  9. Coriander Powder: 2 tbs
  10. Turmeric Powder: 1/2 tsp
  11. Cumin Powder: 1 tsp
  12. Garam Masala: 1 tsp
  13. Curry Leaves: 2 strings
  14. Coriander Leaves: 2 tbs
  15. Lime Juice: 2 tsp
  16. Oil: 50 ml
  17. Salt: to taste
METHOD OF PREPARATION
  • Marinate prawns with 1 tsp chilly powder, little turmeric powder and salt.
  • Heat a pan and boil oil .
  • Give a light fry to marinated prawns in boiling oil.
  • Take out the prawns, saute chopped onion in same oil.
  • When it softens, add ginger-garlic-greenchilly pastes and saute till it brings a pleasant odor.
  • Now add remaining chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and chopped tomatoes to it.
  • Mix well and add 500 ml water to it.
  • Add required salt and allow it to boil.
  • When water starts boil add washed and drained rice to it.
  • Cook with lid closed till it cooks well.
  • When rice is about to cook , add fried prawns, lime juice, coriander and curry leaves and garam masala powder.
  • When the water dries up completely mix it well and turn off the flame.
Delicious and easy prawn pulav is ready, Serve hot with any gravy or chuttney
