Crab Ularthiyathu

Crabs are lovely  seafood with shells. Crabs have a variant taste which can be converted into varieties of dishes and tastes. Here comes a lovely and easy recipe: Crab Ularthiyathu with potato pieces and little masala over it. It requires only the things that we always have in our home but tastes great.

Crab Ularthiyathu

INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION

  1. Crab: 1 kg
  2. Onion: 2
  3. Shallots: 10
  4. Tomato: 2
  5. Garlic: 5 cloves
  6. Ginger: 1 piece
  7. Potato: 2
  8. Chilly powder: 1 tbs
  9. Coriander powder: 2 tbs
  10. Pepper powder: 1 tbs
  11. Turmeric powder:1 tsp
  12. Curry leaves: 1-2 strings
  13. Salt: to taste.
  14. Oil: little
METHOD OF PREPARATION
  • Grind shallots, ginger, garlic, green chilly, tomatoes in a mixer jar and convert it into fine paste.
  • Peel and cut the potatoes into big pieces.
  • Take a clay pot, put cleaned crabs, potato pieces, ground paste, chilly,pepper, coriander and turmeric powders and mic well.
  • Add little water and cook with closed lid in low flame till water dries completely.
  • Stir in intervals.
  • Take a non-stick pan or wok, heat little oil, saute curry leaves  and then onion chopped.
  • Now add cooked crab along with all other ingredients,mix well .
  • Mix well and cook till it turns to light blackish color.
  • Give stir in intervals.
Delicious Crab Ularthiyathu is ready. It is simple and easy to prepare. Serve hot
