Crab is one of the best possible dietary sources of protein. They are also rich in vitamins and minerals, Crab meat is also low in fat and contains Omega-3 polyunsaturated acids. Crabs are lovely among seafood. It is prepared in many ways. Here comes recipe for lovely crab Masala.
INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION
- Crab: 6(cut into pieces)
- Onion: 2
- Shallots: 1/2 cup
- Garlic paste: 1 tbs
- Ginger paste: 1 tbs
- Tomato: 1
- Green chilly: 3
- Red chilly powder: 1 &1/2 tbs
- Coriander powder: 1 tbs
- Turmeric powder: 1 tsp
- Garam masala powder: 3/4 tsp
- Gaambooge(kudampuli): 1 big piece
- Salt: to taste
- Curry leaves: 4 strings
- Water: 2 cup
- Oil: 2 tbs
METHOD OF PREPARATION
- In a clay pot or other pan, put crab pieces, chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, gambooge and salt.
- Add 2 cups of water, mix well and cook with lids closed.
- When crab pieces cooked well and gravy reduces to half turn off the flame.
- In another pot, Add oil, saute garlic, then ginger till its raw smell moves off.
- Now add chopped shallots and saute for some minutes.
- Then add onion pieces and saute till it turn brownish.
- Cut green chillies into 2 pieces and are added to the sauted mixture.
- Saute for 1-2 minutes and add tomato pieces to it.
- Cook till tomato pieces mashes well.
- Add the cooked crab along with the gravy, stir well.
- Add curry leaves to it.
- When the gravy thickens, turn off the flame.
Delicious Crab Masala is ready to serve. Serve hot
