Pocket shawarma is lovely snack in which the shawarma filling is stuffed in kuboos dough and are deep fried. It is simple and yummy. Try and enjoy each bite of awesome pocket shawarma.
For Dough
- All purpose flour: 2 cup
- Yeast: 3/4 tsp
- Curd: 2 tsp
- Sugar: 3 tsp
- Milk: nearly 1/2 cup
- Salt: to taste
For Filling
- Chicken( cooked with salt, turmeric powder and pepper powder): 1/2 cup(shredded)
- Cabbage: 1/2 cup
- Onion: 1/2 cup
- Tomato: 1
- Capsicum: 1/2 cup
- Coriander leaves: 3 tbs
- Mayonnaise: 1/2-3/4 cup
- Pepper powder: 1/2 tsp
- Salt: to taste
METHOD OF PREPARATION
- Soak yeast in little milk with sugar for 5-10 minutes.
- Take a bowl, add all purpose flour, salt and curd.
- Mix well and add milk yeast mix and combine.
- Knead it to smooth dough by adding milk little by little.
- Keep it aside for 3-4 hours for fermentation.
- Finely chop cabbage, onion, tomato, capsicum and coriander leaves.
- Mix all vegetables in a bowl along with little salt and pepper.
- After fermentation, divide the dough into medium balls.
- Remove the liquid oozed from vegetables and mix it with mayonnaise and cooked and shredded chicken.
- Roll dough into thin chappathi, mark circles using a lid of a medium jar or cookie cutter as shown in pic.
- Place the fillings middle of marked places.
- Place another chappathi above it covering the filling
- Now cut into circles using jar lid or cookie cutter.
- Fry them both sides to golden color in hot oil in medium low flame.
- Repeat the steps with remaining dough and filling.
Delicious Pocket Shawarma is ready, serve hot with tomato ketchup.
