Vegetable Manchurian is a delicious simple vegetarian dish that goes smooth with rice, roti or anything. They are prepared easily and are healthy too. Let's have a look on this awesome veg recipe.
- Cabbage grated: 1 cup
- Carrot grated: 1/2 cup
- Onion: 1/2 cup grated+ 2 medium chopped
- Green chilly: 3
- Ginger finely chopped: 2 tsp
- Garlic finely chopped: 2 tbs
- Corn flour: 3 tbs
- All purpose flour: 4 tbs
- Pepper powder: 3/4 tsp
- Soy sauce: 1&1/2 tbs
- Sugar: 1 tsp
- Oil: 2 tbs + for deep frying
- Salt: to taste
- Coriander leaves or spring onion: to garnish
METHOD OF PREPARATION
- Take a bowl and add grated cabbage, carrot, onion, 1 tbs garlic, 1 green chilly finely chopped, 2 tbs cornflour, all purpose flour, pepper powder and salt.
- Combine well and convert then into balls.
- Heat a wok with oil and deep fry the balls to golden brown in medium low flame.
- Drain and keep aside.
- Now heat a pan with 2 tbs oil and saute ginger, garlic and green chilly in it for 1-2 minutes.
- Now saute chopped onion till they become soft.
- Dissolve 1 tbs cornflour in 1 cup of water.
- Now pour this cornflour mix, 1 cup of water, soy sauce, sugar and salt to above pan.
- Stir and allow it to boil.
- You can also use vegetable stock instead of 1 cup water which enhances the taste.
- When the gravy boils and thickens, add the fried veg balls and allow it to boil.
- It is better to add the balls just few minutes before serving.
Delicious Vegetable Manchurian is ready. Serve hot with fried rice, white rice or any roti.
