Vegetable Manchurian

Vegetable Manchurian is a delicious simple vegetarian dish that goes smooth with rice, roti or anything.  They are prepared easily and are healthy too. Let's have a look on this awesome veg recipe.

INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION
  1. Cabbage grated: 1 cup
  2. Carrot grated: 1/2 cup
  3. Onion: 1/2 cup grated+ 2 medium chopped
  4. Green chilly: 3
  5. Ginger finely chopped: 2 tsp
  6. Garlic finely chopped: 2 tbs
  7. Corn flour: 3 tbs
  8. All purpose flour: 4 tbs
  9. Pepper powder: 3/4 tsp
  10. Soy sauce: 1&1/2 tbs
  11. Sugar: 1 tsp
  12. Oil: 2 tbs + for deep frying
  13. Salt: to taste
  14. Coriander leaves or spring onion: to garnish
METHOD OF PREPARATION
  • Take a bowl and add grated cabbage, carrot, onion, 1 tbs garlic, 1 green chilly finely chopped, 2 tbs cornflour, all purpose flour, pepper powder and salt.
  • Combine well and convert then into balls.
  • Heat a wok with oil and deep fry the balls to golden brown in medium low flame.
  • Drain and keep aside.
  • Now heat a pan with 2 tbs oil and saute ginger, garlic and green chilly in it for 1-2 minutes.
  • Now saute chopped onion till they become soft.
  • Dissolve 1 tbs cornflour in 1 cup of water.
  • Now pour this cornflour mix, 1 cup of water, soy sauce, sugar and salt to above pan.
  • Stir and allow it to boil.
  • You can also use vegetable stock instead of 1 cup water which enhances the taste.
  • When the gravy boils and thickens, add the fried veg balls and allow it to boil.
  • It is better to add the balls just few minutes before serving.
Delicious Vegetable Manchurian is ready. Serve hot with fried rice, white rice or any roti.
