Whole wheat kheer or godambu payasam is a awesome kheer recipe with healthy ingredients. This lovely kheer or payasam is prepared in creamy rich coconut milk which brongsout a utterly delicious taste. Every one can enjoy this healthy kheer, give a try on it.
INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION
- whole wheat(skinless): 500 g
- Thick Coconut milk: of 1& 1/2 coconut( big)
- Jaggery: 500 g( add as per your taste)
- Cardamom: 2
- Salt: 1/2 tsp
METHOD OF PREPARATION
- Soak wheat for 10-20 minutes after washing it.
- Cook it with enough water and salt for 5-6 whistles in a pressure cooker.
- Allow the pressure to escape. Open the lid and check whether wheat is cooked for not. If not, then again cook for 1-2 whistles.
- If the jaggery is clean, then you can directly add it to the cooker, otherwise melt it with little water and sieve pour.
- Also you can add jaggery with coconut in a mixer jar while preparing coconut milk.
- Pour coconut milk and jaggery to the cooker and allow it to boil by stirring in interwals .
- Donot add jaggery all together, add by checking the sweetness.
- Also crush cardamom and add to the kheer.
- You can also add roasted coconut pieces, cashew or raisins if you loves. Here i didn' t used.
- If you didn' t like jaggery, you can use sugar or combination of both instead.
Delicious healthy Godambu Payasam / Whole Wheat Kheer is ready. Serve hot.
