Momos

Momos is a delicious dish from Nepal origin which are  used as breakfast dinner or snack. They are dumblings with filling inside. Here i prepared lovely chicken filling. It is tasty and goes well with chilly sauce or any sauce. Give a try on this simply easy recipe.


INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION
  1. All purpose flour: 250 g
  2. Chicken: 500 g
  3. Celery: 1 stalk
  4. Garlic: 8 cloves
  5. Pepper : 1 tsp
  6. Green chilly: 3
  7. Coriander leaves: little
  8. Salt: to taste
METHOD OF PREPARATION
  • Boil 3/4 cup of water.
  • When it boils , add all purpose flour and salt and mix well, turn off the flame.
  • Now knead it to form a smooth dough like puri. Keep aside for 20-30 minutes
  • Cook chicken pieces with celery, pepper, 3 garlic cloves, salt and 10 cups of water.
  • When chicken gets cooked, remove from flame and take out the chicken pieces.
  • Strain the cooked water and keep aside.
  • Remove bones from chicken and mince them with remaining garlic, green chilly and coriander leaves. It is our filling.
  • Prepare small uniform round patties with dough ,place little filling on centre.
  • Hold the sides of patties and stick all together.
  • Pour the above strained water on lower part of steamer and prepared momos on above tray.
  • Cook them on steamer for 15-20 minutes.
  • Now the gravy will be little thick .
  • Momos are served with this thick gravy and red chilly sauce.
For preparing red chilly sauce

    Ingredients
    1. Red chilly dry(seeds removed): 3
    2. Shallots: 4
    3. Tamarind: a gooseberry sized
    4. Oil: 1 tbs
    Method
    • Grind red chilly , shallots and tamarind to paste.
    • Heat oil in a pan and saute the paste for 3-4 minutes.
    • Red chilly sauce is ready.
    Delicious Chicken momos are ready. Serve hot
