Amritsari Butter Chicken

Butter chicken are most lovable chicken recipe which butter flavor. Here comes a variant butter chicken recipe from Amritsar. It is really delicious and easy recipe suits with any thing. Chicken pieces are marinated, lightly fried in butter and are cooked in butter flavored gravy. Give a try on this wonderful and simple recipe.



INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION
  1. Chicken: 500 g
  2. Butter: 6 tbs
  3. Onion: 1
  4. Tomato: 4
  5. Ginger-garlic paste: 2 tbs
  6. Ginger(chopped):1 tsp
  7. Green chilly(ringed): 2
  8. Chilly powder: 4 tsp
  9. Coriander powder: 2 tsp
  10. Cumin powder: 2 tsp
  11. Curd: 1&1/2 tbs
  12. Vinegar: 2 tsp
  13. Lime juice: 1 tbs
  14. Fresh cream: 1/4 cup
  15. Coriander leaves: 2 tbs
  16. Salt: to taste
METHOD OF PREPARATION

    • Puree the tomatoes without water.
    • Prepare marinade paste by grinding onion, 2 tbs ginger-garlic paste, 2 tsp chilly powder,1 tsp each of coriander and cumin powder, 1&1/2 tbs curd, 1 tbs lime juice, 2 tsp vinegar and little salt.
    • Marinate chicken with this and keep aside for 2-3 hours.
    • After that heat 2 tbs butter in a pan and shallow fry the chicken pieces.
    • Heat a pan with 2 tbs butter and saute chopped ginger followed by chopped green chilly.
    • Now add all the remaining masala powders and saute till its raw smell moves out.
    • Now pour tomato puree and cook till it thickens in low flame.
    • Add salt also.
    • Next we have to fried chicken pieces and mix well to get coated with gravy.
    • Add half of fresh cream,mix well and cook till chicken pieces cooks well in low flame with closed lid.
    • Stir on intervals.
    • When it gets cooked , add remaining fresh cream, coriander leaves and butter, stir it well and turn off the flame.
    Delicious Amritsari Butter chicken/ Murgh Makhini is ready. serve hot with roti or rice.
