Lemon Merang Cutes Dessert

Lemon Merang Cutes is a delicious and variant dessert recipe with the flavor of lemon. Here we first prepare merang cutes or coins by baking beaten egg white with sugar with a flavor of lemon. and then prepare custard with egg yolk and few other ingredients. It is then topped with whipping cream , fruits of our choice and any fruit crush. It take a little more time prepare than other desserts but tastes great.

Lemon Merang Cutes Dessert

INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION
  1. Egg: 4
  2. Sugar: 1&1/2 cup
  3. Whipped cream: 1 cup
  4. Lemon: 3-4
  5. Lemon zest: 1 tbs
  6. Salt :little
  7. Fresh fruits: 1 cup
  8. Wafer sticks: for garnishing
  9. Fruit crush:for garnishing.
METHOD OF PREPARATION
  • Separate egg white and yolk.
  • Take a bowl and add egg white into it.
  • Beat it with  a pinch of salt using electric beater till it thickens.
  • When it thickens, add 1 cup sugar little by little and beat till it thickens and forms peak.
  • When it thickens and shines, add 1&1/2 tsp of lemon juice and mix slowly using a spoon. It is the merang to be baked.
  • Now take a tray and place a butter paper above it. grease it with butter.
  • Fill a pastry bag with prepared merang, pipe it to the greased butter paper into small coins.
  • Keep it in preheated oven and bake for 2-3 hours at 110 degree or till it thickens and forms crispy, baking time depends on the thickness we made on merang coins.
  • Allow it to cool and remove from butter paper.
  • Next we can prepare custard for it.
  • Mix egg yolk, 1/2 cup sugar, 4 tbs lemon juice, 1 tbs lemon zest and a pinch of salt and prepare custard by double-boiling method.
  • Allow it to cool for 8-10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile beat whipped cream to foam well.
  • When the prepared custard cool , slowly fold whipped cream (preserve little for garnishing) with the custard.
Serving Method
 Take dessert glasses and place some  merang cutes or coins  on it. pour the prepared cream custard over it. Allow it to set for 6-8 hours in refrigerator. Top it with remaining whipped cream, fruit pieces of your choice. Garnish it with wafer sticks, cherry or fruit crush., Here i used kiwi crush for that.
Delicious lovely Lemon Merang Cutes dessert with lemon flavor is ready. Serve chilled
