Chicken Ularthiyathu

Chicken ularthiyathu is a delicious and simple chicken recipe which can be prepared in very little time.Here every other ingredients are cooked along with the chicken, no need to saute it first. Its a fry recipe but with little gravy.

Chicken Ularthiyathu

INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION

  1. Chicken: 1 small(cut into small pieces)
  2. Onion: 2
  3. Tomato: 1 big
  4. Ginger paste: 1&1/2 tbs
  5. Garlic paste: 1&1/2 tbs
  6. Chilly powder: 2 tbs
  7. Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
  8. Garam masala powder: 3/4 tsp
  9. Shallots: 6
  10. Crushed pepper: 1 tsp
  11. Oil: 1/4 cup
  12. Curry leaves: 2 strings
  13. Salt: to taste
  14. Hot water: 1 cup
METHOD OF PREPARATION

  • Mix ginger and garlic paste, turmeric powder,crushed pepper and salt together and marinate chicken pieces in it for at least 2 hours.
  • After 2 hour, add this in a hot pan along with onion(cut in length), tomato(cut into 4 pieces),chilly powder, garam masala powder and hot water .
  • Mix well and cook it in low flame till chicken pieces cooks and water drains off.
  • In another thick-bottomed pan, saute curry leaves , fry the chicken pieces along with its gravy in low flame. I didn't fried it more.
  • You can either fry a little or fry it into browish according to your taste.
  • Cook both sides.
Delicious and lovely Chicken ularthiyathu is ready. Serve hot
