Fruit jams are one of the favorite for ours kids. But when we buy it, it may contain many preservatives. We can prepare fruit jam easily from home with a few ingredients and steps, which tastes as well. As there is no preservatives or additives, homemade jams are healthy. Here is a recipe for pineapple jam with only three ingredients. You can add 2 or 3 drops of pineapple essence or yellow food color to it. It is tasty without that also. It will be fresh for 1-2 weeks or can be refrigerated for longer period.
INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION- Pineapple: 1/2 of 1 medium sized(gives almost 2 cups of puree)
- Sugar: 1 cup
- Lime juice: 1 tbs
METHOD OF PREPARATION
- Peel off pineapple and cut into small pieces.
- Puree it into fine paste without water using a mixer grinder.
- Pour it into a nonstick pan, add sugar with it and mix well.
- Boil till it starts thickens in low flame by stirring in intervals.
- When it thickens, turn off the flame.
- Then add 1 tbs of lime juice to it and mix well.
- Store it in a dry, air-tightened container.
