Rasmalai Recipe



Rasmalai is a festival sweet of India especially in Bengal. It is mostly served during Deepavali. Rasmalai is a sweet consisting of  spongy balls in sweet creamy milk. They are also enriched with the flavor of saffron, dry fruit pieces. It is a delicious dish  every one loves especially kids. You can use rasgulas as spongy balls in place of the balls am using here.
 INGREDIENTS FOR PREPARATION
  1. Milk powder: 1 cup
  2. Baking powder: 1 tsp
  3. Cornflour: 1 tsp
  4. Egg white: 1
  5. Oil: 1 tbs
  6. Milk: 500 ml
  7. Sugar: 3/4 cup
  8. Saffron strands: 1tsp
  9. Chopped cashew: 1 tsp
  10. Chopped almond: 1 tsp
  11. Chopped Pista: 1tsp
METHOD OF PREPARATION
  • Sieve milk powder and baking powder together to get mix well.
  • Mix egg white, cornflour, and oil together.
  • Add this mixture to milk powder and mix it slowly.
  • Never knead it roughly. 
  • Keep it aside for 10-15 minutes .
  • Make it into balls and give a light press on it.
  • Boil milk and sugar in a pan.
  • Now put the balls into milk . The balls should be covered my milk.
  • Heat it in low flame, the balls enlarges.
  • Turn off the flame.
  • Soak saffron strands in little milk , mix well and pour over it.
  • Garnish it with chopped cashews, almonds and pista.
Delicious Rasmalai is ready to serve.
